Reimagining Memphis

photo

When Memphis Housing Authority was awarded $22.5 million in federal HOPE VI funding in 2004 to rebuild the distressed public housing development Lamar Terrace, a unique opportunity was born.

That opportunity grew the following year when MHA was awarded an additional $20 million in HOPE VI funds to rebuild the Dixie Homes development. Stepping up to this opportunity to re-imagine a vital part of the city was the team of McCormack Baron Salazar and Community Capital. With extensive experience in public housing revitalization, community redevelopment and affordable housing financing, and intimate knowledge of the Memphis community, the MBS-CC team is already hard at work transforming these public housing communities into healthy neighborhoods.

Three phases of work on University Place, formerly Lamar Terrace, are completed. The first phase of Legends Park, formerly Dixie Homes, has been completed and work on subsequent phases is currently underway.
